Timothy Hurst is the executive editor of the LiveOAK Media Network and the founding editor of Ecopolitology and Earth & Industry, where he writes about the politics of energy and the environment, clean tech and sustainable business.
Before taking the reins at LiveOAK, Tim wrote for, edited and executed social media strategy for Green Options Media, the web’s first green blog network, at sites including CleanTechnica, Sustainablog and Gas 2.0. Tim has also been a regular contributor at WebEcoist and Celsias, among others.
Always on the lookout for ways to use new media to explore, critique and advance the cause of sustainability, Tim also consults with brands and organizations that are looking to amplify their sustainability stories by connecting with digital influencers and thought leaders.
Tim has an M.A. in Political Science (Environmental Politics) from Colorado State University and a B.A. in International Relations from Lynchburg College in Virginia.
When not reading, writing, thinking, or talking about energy and environmental politics to anyone who will listen, Tim likes to hike, ski and get his hands dirty in the vegetable garden.
